Common questions asked about ImPACT Pediatric

What is ImPACT Pediatric?

ImPACT Pediatric is a brief test designed to provide information on the cognitive functioning of children aged 5 through 11
years 11 months. It is a tool to be utilized along with other tests of balance, oculomotor and vestibular processes.

How long is the ImPACT Pediatric test?

It takes approximately 10-15 minutes to complete the test.

Can ImPACT Pediatric be administered on children of all ages?

The test is designed for children ages 5-11.

Can parents access their child’s test data?

No. Only Passport Trained healthcare providers can access personal health information. A parent can request a copy of the results from the test administrator. ImPACT Pediatric test data is stored on a secure HIPAA compliant server and stored for a minimum of 7 years.

How does ImPACT Pediatrics compare to the current version of ImPACT?

ImPACT Pediatrics is similar to the online ImPACT Test in that it has been designed to aid in the evaluation of concussions. There are some of the familiar tasks (though presented at an age appropriate level for young children) and the report format is similar to facilitate easy use and interpretation. While there are some similarities, ImPACT Pediatric is a different test than the online ImPACT Test.

Symptom documentation, age-referenced norms, easy administration, and interpretation make ImPACT Pediatric useful for a variety of licensed healthcare providers as part of a concussion rehabilitation and return-to-activity program.

The child’s performance can be compared to normative data to further assist the clinician in making a decision regarding a need for a more comprehensive evaluation.

Collecting and managing electronic patient health records involve privacy and security risk. When you use ImPACT Pediatric, you can be confident that you have a data security plan that can withstand wide-ranging scrutiny and that meets global security requirements.

ImPACT Pediatric is the first and only computerized cognitive assessment aid for pediatric concussions to receive FDA clearance.
